Not great image quality- had to take the photos with my phone (camera’s broken!). But these are some little watercolors that I did for the CCAD art sale. I love painting birds! I also make it even more fun by painting on antique paper from old books that I collect. I like that my paintings can have a history in that way.
I am not only a visual artist, but a performing artist as well. Fire is mainly my thing- spinning it, eating, lighting it on my body, etc. But last weekend I had a new experience. I stilted professionally for the first time with the Amazing Giants at Highball in Columbus! It was quite a wonderful time. Surprisingly not terribly cold (its a work out to be up on those things, plus I was spinning poi) and I didn’t fall. Score! It was an interesting experience in that we were treated like celebrities. Everyone wanted to get their picture taken with us. Drunk (and not so drunk) people flirted with us. The three things I got most often were: “how do you get down from those things?” “Aren’t you cold/ did a man design your costume?” and “Can I get a picture with you?” My favorite part might be getting a kiss on the cheek from a zombie. It was a blast. I look forward to more stilting experiences!
At the risk of appearing narcissistic here are some photos of us.
